The Shared Energy, Shared Futures Framework is an Indigenous-led systems transformation framework designed to strengthen Indigenous participation, workforce development, leadership, and prosperity within Canada's energy sector. The framework was officially launched at the Global Energy Show 2026, bringing together Indigenous leaders, industry executives, government representatives, workforce organizations, educators, and community partners to explore a new approach to building Indigenous pathways in energy.

Developed through extensive engagement with Indigenous communities and guided by an all-Indigenous Steering Committee, the framework provides a practical approach for aligning industry, Indigenous communities, government, education, and workforce partners around shared outcomes and long-term success.

Grounded in the principles of Systems Design, Two-Eyed Seeing, Seasonality, and Relational Accountability, the framework helps organizations move beyond transactional engagement toward meaningful partnerships, stronger workforce pathways, and sustainable economic participation.

The accompanying Foundations for Systems Design and Seasonality Framework documents are intended to be used as learning, planning, and implementation tools. Together, they support organizations in assessing their current state, understanding the conditions required for success, identifying opportunities for alignment, and designing strategies that are responsive to both organizational and community priorities.
